Sometimes I feel like I was left in the oven too long. The oven being Missouri, of course. I think if you stay anywhere too long it starts to burn you. You become crisp, hard to the beauty and charm of the place you reside. Or maybe it’s just me. My timer buzzed long ago. Thankfully, I received a rescue email as I came to this realization, notifying me that I have been accepted into the Teach for America Corps. Houston. Hmm…never been.
